You Are Enough: Embracing Self Fine Art Portraiture {Vancouver, WA}

Where did these shadows come from? When did we get so critical?
Of ourselves. Of our bodies, our abilities, our strength, our dreaming.

Somewhere along the way...
To adulthood. To maturity.
To whatever it meant to be a grown up

Somehow we've fallen into a pit...
Of doubts. Of questions. Of uncertainty.

How do we get back to that innocent place...
Where we freely pursued our dreams and the winding paths that took us to places with ends we couldn't predict and didn't try to? Free of self-doubt. Free of worry. Free from the fear of failure.

When I heard this song and "these little words"
"You Are Enough"

Deep down I knew it to be true. I Am Enough.
Just the way I am. Full of flaws. Full of dreams.
Full of everything that makes me who I am.

There is a place I'm searching for...
One where my weaknesses are not glossed over in a grandiose vision of self.
One where my strengths are not suppressed from consciousness.

But instead. A place where I am simply enough.
A place of growing. A place of adventuring. Of falling. Of failing.
A middle ground of enough, where I'm safe in His hands.
Of letting my "shadows fall away like dust."

Women. We are enough.
We are worthy of existing in photographs. We can celebrate our adventures and journeys the way we are now; mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Women. We are enough.
We're on a journey. Let's let it go and be okay with that. And let's document that journey.

Women. We are enough.
Let's push past the flaws of our shadows and the truth they hide.
Let's exist in photographs. Leave our stories, our loves, our journeys, our struggles, our victories; our stories of our existence on this earth.
#EmbracingSelf

If you're ready for this journey, I want to be a part of your journey. I want to hear about it. I want to hear about you. And I want to be a part of documenting your very personal journey as the subject of my art.

When we woke up
The world was figured out
Beyond the beauty we’ve dreamt about.
This brilliant light is brighter than we’ve known,
Without our darkness to prove it so.
Still, we can’t help but to examine it,
To add our question marks to periods.
At the foot of our bed, we found an envelope…

“You are enough.”
These little words, somehow they’re changing us.
“You are enough.”
So we let our shadows fall away like dust.

When we grew up,
Our shadows grew up too.
But they’re just old ghosts
That we grow attached to.
The tragic flaw is that they hide the truth

That you’re enough.
I promise you’re enough.
I promise you’re enough, I promise you.

“You are enough.”
These little words, somehow they’re changing us.
“You are enough,”
So we let our shadows fall away like dust.
“You are enough.”
These little words, somehow they’re changing us.
Let it go, let it go, “You are enough.”
So we let our shadows fall away like dust.
