Fine Art Portrait Commissioned Art {Vancouver, WA}

In 2021 I added a new form of art to my workflow; Transformations.

Taking an image I’ve created in-camera, I then use textures to add to the scene and overall feel of the image. This process takes the original Fine Art Portrait image to an even greater plane of imagination, whimsy, and possibility. By using real physical textures applied to the surface of the image print and then re-photographed and re-printed, each one is unique and unable to be reproduced. The textures used in the process mix and melt into each other, creating an ever-evolving mixture of the printed image and mixed media textures which because of their very nature, do not survive longer than the second before melting off into another part of the image or evaporating entirely from the surface of the image.

I am pleased to announce that Transformations are now available as an optional add-on to any Fine Art Portrait Commission. Together we will choose an image from our Commission Sitting appointment, I’ll create a handful of proofs, then you will choose the Transformation you’d like made into wall art.

The finished art piece will be sent to my Fine Art archival-quality print lab in Italy and printed using High Definition printing technology, then mounted on a metal, acrylic, or canvas panel.

The amazing thing about transformations is that most often people come to me in order to create a visual representation of something meaningful to them. My Embracing Self commissions are a classic example of a photo session that documents where a person is at in their journey towards #EmbracingSelf in a way that encompasses their whole mind, body, and spirit. Other times it’s a life-stage, Motherhood or Maternity, or an event like an engagement or an anniversary. Whether it’s an ongoing journey, an event, or a celebration of a particular lifestage, the consistent element throughout them all is a desire to stop time and commemorate the moment. Transformations allow for one piece to encapsulate all of the emotions of that moment which you want to have its own special place on the timeline of your life and experiences. It deserves to be remembered and put in a place of prominence on your walls.
